Man Arrested In Connection With Shooting At Norwalk Housing Complex

A 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly shooting a person at an area housing complex.

Norwalk Police responded to the shooting around 10 a.m., Thursday, June 11, after receiving a report of the incident at Roodner Court at 261 Ely Ave.

Officers arrived and found one victim, who was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, said Norwalk Police Lt. Jared Zwickler.

The shooter, later identified as Marcus Bonaparte, address unknown, and the victim knew each other, police said.

Police issued a description of Bonaparte and his vehicle to area law enforcement agencies.

Bridgeport Police located Bonaparte in the area of Central High School where he was detained, and arrested, Zwickler said.

A firearm was recovered after it was thrown from the suspect vehicle on Kings Highway East in Fairfield. 

Bonaparte  was charged with:

  • Assault 
  • Criminal possession of a firearm, 
  • Reckless endangerment 

He is being held on a $750,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, June 22.
